When i take off hard from 1st gear like spinning tires hard, when i hit about 3500 rpms it has a hickup like the whole engine shuts down for a split second. I'm not losing fuel pressure ive cleaned maf sensor it also set a fuel rail pressure sensor code and both lean exhaust codes. fuel pressure is not steady it jumps around 5 psi even at idle. I know the pump is pwm so i dont know if that is normal or not any ideas. mustang cobra 4.6 y motor super charged
Rrccbeals,
I too have this hiccup. I've got a 4.6L 2003 Mustang GT. From a full stop, under reasonably hard acceleration, I experience this acceleration pause consistently. Not sure why -- have dealt with it since new -- same now with 113K miles on car.

If this happens right after you shift it is likely the check valve in the fuel line at the pump. If not occuring after the shift you may be experiencing spark blow out. Try reducing your plug gap to .035 and see if that helps. This is especially important if you have made any modifications that will increase your boost over stock levels.
