No speedo on 02 Galant

I replaced the factory stereo in my 2002 Galant with an aftermarket radio. Immediately,my speedo and odometer quit working. I think there is either a voltage or a ground provided by the radio that is taken out of the loop when you replace the radio. I'm trying to locate the VSS and speeodometer wiring diagrams to see how they tie in with the radio. Ironically, I upgraded the stereo even more and had to run 4 guage wire to the amps. Disconnected the battery which cleared my OBD memory and now I can't pass emissions. It appears that the OBD clears itself whenever the battery is disconnected and resets itself after 100 miles have been driven. Sad part is the car is too stupid to know it has gone 100 miles without the odometer working. Maybe the stereo upgrade wasn't worth it after all.

Unfortunately, most modern cars disagree with aftermarket items. anymore, professionals must install these to preven such things from happening. and, no, it wasn't worth it if it knocked out so many electronics.

Why is the speedo not working 2003 mitsubishi galant

The odometer cable must have come out from the transmission or is not turning.

I am assuming this happened suddenly. But things can be different if you were adjusting transmission timings or playing with dashboard electronics (new radio etc).

Hello I just bought a new stereo for my mitsubishi galant 2002 but i need to know the wiring diagram in order to make the installation if anyone can help thanks

Wiring adapters are available for nearly every make of vehicle, which allows you to plug right in to the original radio connectors. They come with wiring diagrams, and are nearly idiot proof. They cost usually about 10 to 15 dollars, and are available just about anywhere that sells car stereos. This also allows you to reinstall the factory radio when it comes time to sell the car and you want to keep your stereo.

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 and it has a factory CD/Radio Bose system. The radio works fine but can't get the CD player to work, it won't eject or load a CD. I recently had an ignition fusible link prob...

you might have to take it to the dealership to have the radio reprogramed. it should only cost 40 bucks. these radios are very tempermental and have a mind of their own sometimes. My profesional recomendation would be to have an aftermarket cd player in. they are much nicer and have way better quality than the factory radio's
