Battery terminal gets extremely hot and battery indicator light comes on... new alternator and battery was put in, but still happening
Sounds like for one reason or another that alternator is putting out too much voltage to battery. Did mechanic check to see if new alternator was rated same or close to old one, as in amperage rating? Pulley on new alternator same size? You'll need to get it to another mechanic who knows what he's doing, obviously that guy wasn't too concerned with curing your problem. That's why I was hoping you had a voltage reading when running.

I dont know what the voltage reading is... My battery indicator light came on, I brought it to my mechanic, he says it was the alternator... He replaced that.. 3 hours later the light came back on.. He said he checked all the connections and they were good... so he said it may be the battery going bad... ok... so he put a new one in... picked up car and now.... again... 20 minutes later the battery lights on again... what is wrong with my car???? Apartenty my mechanic doesnt know... but the positive terminal on the battery gets extremely hot, and no one knows why all this is happening... help me!!!!
After a while it does cool down when the engine is off...
Does the terminal cool down when car shut off?
What is voltage reading at battery at that time? Look for a loose or corroded end on both negative & positive cables too.
