Headlight relay HELP! my 1996 renault espace headlights, fog lights & glovebox light don't work - all fuses checked & seem to be ok - could it be a relay? if so which one is it pls?

First check for blown fuses (a blown fuse indicates there is a short in the lighting circuit ) and check any defective relays. When vehicles are operated with the fog lights on all the time this causes the wiring for the associated circuit(s) to operate at a higher temperature and eventually it will result in a burned out non-conductive connection. Usually the wire(s) burn out where they are connected to switches, at the headlamps, fog lamps etc... Also check for a burned out connection or a melted terminal contact board used for the high beam-low beam switch which is usually located inside the steering column.

First you have to make sure the bulbs are good, if they are check out good, you need to check the fuses and switch.

If the lights are switched then the switch controls a rely all lights are switched on bmw. Can use fog lights temporarily. Find rely test with continuity meter when on, disconnect lights first, then turn on lights switch, check for 12v at light bulb terms, if 12v then bulbs bad, if not relay is bad, test with continuity meter, rely should read 0 ohms when lights switched on, infinite open circuit when switched off. If lights work in manual switch pos then solar sensor bad.

Checked fuse ok / checked stalk ok / checked wires at stalk none cut / checked relay ok so where do I go from here?

Maybe a relay but maybe and more probably a broken wire Get a diagram Chilton or Haynes manual

Broken wire at the stalk should be white remove the covers

Check at the headlight sockets for a bad ground.
