Parked my 06 duramax yesterday didnt have a problem today started then died. then acted like it wasnt getting fuel. never replaced glowplugs thinking thats probably the cause any ideas? could it just be flooded from me trying to pump the pedal when it was trying to go then died? if so how do i fix the flooded issue?
I take it that your engine is a diesel (glo-plugs) in which case the pumping of the accelerator is just good exercise for your leg but does nothing for the engine as it does not have an accelerator pump. faulty glo plugs will only make for hard starting on cold mornings so that will be out also. So the next ting that will give some idea as to the problem will be to have the fault codes read and that will show up the area and sensors that are causing your faults.

It could be the mass air flow sensor. Its mounted to the side of the air cleaner. Just unplug the electrical connection to bypass the unit. If this is the problem the vehicle should run smoothly.

Cheak your fuse under the drivers side under the hood. Look in your manuel for fuel fuse. It looks like a little black box.

Check the battery +12v power connection to the starter is in good order,
Check the ground connection between the battery negative and the engine/starter motor is robust and intact.
If no problem with above, replace the starter motor.
