It's a pretty long procedure to type out,so go to autozone.com,register and input your vehicle info, then you can access their online repair guide, they have the procedure to disarm the air bag(s),they are under the chassis electrical heading, follow them to a tee so you don't set the air bag off,the cover maybe screwed on thru the back of the steering wheel or may just be held in place with tension clips, the repair guide isn't clear on this so look for srews first,if you don't see any you should be able to pry gently off with a screwdriver, the horn switch will be in the cavity underneath or possibly attached to the back of the air bag itself,it's just a small springed tab with a wire attached that touches the metal of the steering column.I hope this info helps and please be careful to follow the instructions.

2005 Cavalier horn does not work. Stearing wheel airbag missing?

no connection between air bag and horn operation
the air bag is in a section but that whole section presses to activate the horn
can be on either side bottom or top will work the horn
probably right that there is no air bag
you will have to remove the wheel to check the horn contact under the center bit
check for a horn relay operation first

I have a 2003 cavalier;and the horn doesn;t work . ineed help taken the steering wheel off to check wireing

Before i took the steering wheel off i would locate the horn itself and unplug it and run a straight wire from each battery post and touch one wire to each contacter on the horn to make sure the horns not bad itself. But to take the steering wheel off you have to unbolt the airbag from the back remove it and then you should be able to check the horn contacter without pulling the steering wheel.

98 Cavalier, Horn went on, I had to disconnect the horn itself to stopthe noise. Problem in the steering wheel hub?? Bad Horn switch?? is a new switch available??

Yes, the problem will probably be a sticking switch. When you remove the steering wheel cover you should be able to see the switch(s). I think your vehicle has two and usually spraying them with an electronic cleaning fluid does the trick.

How do i replace a turn signal switch in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier

Your going to need to remove the steering wheel and the steering column cover, then you can access the screws holding the "multi function switch",which is the new name for the turn signal switch ,since it does more now.

  1. If not already done, disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Unfasten the horn pad, then remove the steering wheel. For details, please refer to the procedure earlier in this section.

If necessary, using locking pliers with a piece of rubber (such as a spark plug boot) between the jaws to help prevent damage to the tilt lever during removal.
  1. If equipped, remove the tilt lever from the steering column by grasping the lever firmly and twisting counterclockwise, while pulling it from the column.
  2. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
  3. Remove the dampener assembly, then unfasten and remove the switch assembly from the vehicle.

To install:
  1. Position and secure the switch assembly.
  2. Install the dampener and the upper and lower steering column covers.
  3. If equipped, attach the tilt lever to the column.
  4. Install the steering wheel, then fasten the horn pad.
  5. If equipped, enable the SIR system, as outlined in of this repair guide.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

My horn quit working but the relay and fuse are still good. Am still getting current to these places. But when you push the horn button..nothing happens. 2004 chevy cavalier. 2 door hardtop.

It sounds like the switch itself, on the steering wheel, are not making contact. I'm guessing that if you can remove the front part of the steering wheel you could check and clean the contacts and also give you a chance to test the horn, while you are in there.
