The A/C in my 1999 Volvo S70 suddenly stopped working. I found and replaced a blown fuse (#31 if you're counting) and now it works only on the 5th (highest setting). There is little-to-no fan noise in settings 1-4. Any help?
My guess would be that the resistor block located in side of air duct between blower fan and evaporatorbox has burnt out one or two resistor coils and requires replacing or repair.I have never seen Volvo A/c but would expect this to be the problem. The block is located in the airstream to keep it cool .By moving your setting switch you are selecting differing resistance coils (or a combination of same) thus with failure lose various speeds.
