stop at any autozone store ( if you have them out there,) they'll ck the code or codes that your computer has stored in it's history, write down what they tell you and let me know,i'll give info on what your problem is and what's involved to fix it. rj

Service engine soon light just turned on in my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. The car has approximately 76,000 miles on it. Nothing seems to be wrong with the car. What does this light indicator mean?

this could be anything from a losse petrol cap, to a loose vaccuum line, or a fault with a sensor...or womething else...very hard to diagnose without the error code number...which the engine computer logs when the light comes on......you need to take the vewhilce to a mechanic, or auto-zone on the us who will read the codes for you...this will give you the directioin to which will find the answer

My service engine soon light came on 2003 gallant this morning while it was warming up. Is this a service notice that needs to be done or is it acutally the computer telling me something IS wrong? service...

The Service Engine Soon light is a notice from the vehicles on-board computer that a problem has been detected somewhere, and service is required. You can isolate the problem by having the "trouble code" displayed for you at an auto parts store for FREE to determine the exact problem, and possible causes. This should be done FIRST, so that you strategically approach the problem directly instead of spending unnecessary money "guessing or assuming". If you are trying to save a few bucks, you may want to invest in a Chilton's manual for you vehicle as well for step-by-step repair, and diagnostic info specifically for your vehicle. I hope this helps,...and good luck!!

Service engine soon.

it mearns that the computer is sensing a failure. You will need to see if it has logged any codes, and troubleshoot from there. You can go to many auto parts suppliers (autozone, ect) and many will read the codes for you, or you can purchase code reader and do it yourself
