Speed light wont turn on

It will depend on what the standard tyre size and Rim is that is normally fitted to that model and what vehicle the replacement rim came from.
Wheel Rims can have different lug hole spacing according to the make and model. Another difference can be the 'Offset'. This is how far the rim sits into or sticks out of the wheel arch. This can cause tyre rubbing especially on the front when turning.
I think 16 inch rims are larger than the standard wheels fitted so you will need to adjust to a different Tyre size just so you don't affect your speedometer reading. Larger diameter wheels can cause a slower speed reading and smaller wheels read as a faster speed.

The ESC light will go out when the ABS system is repaired. The skid may have damaged a speed sensor or some other component causing both lights to stay on.

if one tire is rotating faster than the other it activates the brakes to even it out..more bs unplug it and put tape over the check engine light,2003 problems as well sounds like plastic gears stripping, have to turn it off every time it rains or snows,causes loose wires at wheel sensor so called speed sensor which on mine are built into the hub assembly

First you need to know how the system works. Your factory rims should have magnetic valve stems, thats how the on board computer detects them, the rolling speed of a tire at 32 psi. is different than at say 25 psi. thats how the computer knows it's not at the right pressure. so if you have done anything to change the fact of the special valve stem I told you about such as putting you spare tire on this would be cause of your light being on. cause the spare tire does not have the special valve stem.

I do it all the time. the reason that happens is snow packs in the rims and tires and causes the tires to be out of balance so at speed they will vibrate and make a louder road noise. solution bring it to the car wash and spray those tires down.

Two items to consider when doing that swap...First, the smaller tires must turn faster to go the same speed/distance as the larger ones which will affect fuel consumption and alter speedometer reading. Second, your abs brake system reads wheel speed and having different turning rates may be interpreted as a partial skid which can cause problems. Best to stay with same size on front and rear.

Yes. the 185/70 are a bit slim for the 6-inch rims - but should bite the rim safely. Wider snow tires would give more traction in snow and ice... and fit the 6-inch rims better.... good luck!! (From sunny North Carolina)

If there is snow and ice building up around the wheel speed sensors, yeh, that would make the light come on.

put on your spare doughnut tire and see if it's bent to .. if it is then you bent the axle not the rim.
