I have a passenger side headlight that is dim while on low beam but works fine on high beam. Ive checked the ground connection to the chasis ,even wire brushed it to no avail. ive also changed the bulb . the only thing I haven't done is to change the dimmer switch. would this correct my problem or is there another ground Im not seeing?
No relay involved at all for the headlamps ,low or high beam ! Looking at a wiring diagram so you know what wire's to test an using a DMM digital multi - meter an doing what is call voltage drop testing to find what part of the circuit has the problem . B+ side or ground side ! Watch this video from a couple of master tech's / teachers .

You probably have resistances in the circuit .

Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size. Under system click lighting ,then under subsystem click on headlamps .
Depends on just how dim it is. If not too dim, I would first make sure the bulb is the same brand/model you have installed on the other side. It is very unlikely it's a problem with the dimmer switch, but may be a problem with the headlight relay or connector pins at the headlight.
SOURCE: low beam does not work on passenger side only
It could be a realy..
Find the relay location in your manual..
Have a great day !
SOURCE: 98 caviler low beam
98 caviler high beam left side dosent work canged bulb checked fuse and all good

Bad wiring. First check that the power reaches the headlight - use a voltmeter connected directly to the hot wires from the bulbs plugs and to the body of the car. If it doesn't then the wire is broken somewhere between the bulb and the relay - you will have to check it completely. If the power comes the check the continuity of the ground wires with an ohmmeter connected to the ground wires from the plugs and the body of the car.
SOURCE: One low beam head lights will not work, high beam works though
check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse
Testimonial: "Do you know where the ground would be though for the low beam driver side? I am having difficulty hunting it down. There is no power at the plug or before it. (I stabbed a little hole in the wire just to check to make sure it was not the plug) I also replaced the switch on the dash for the lights hoping that would fix it. Although, there is still no power."
