1994 Chevrolet C1500. Making a noise that sounds like metal to metal. Starts when I reach 15 mph. No change in sound with increase or decrease in speed. Stops when I get below 15 mph. Sounds like brake drum rubbing something but I can't find it where this may be happening. Sometimes the brake pedal will pulsate when stopping. Also the steering sometimes pulls the the right slightly,not sure if the two are related. I had rear pinions and all that replaced last year.
Hi I am Vortash when a vehicle pulls to the right it means the brake caliper on the left is not working correctly .. hence uneven braking the rubbing could be worn wheel bearings or perhaps a stone caught in the pads scraping on the disc or drum whichever you have fitted ,, it could even be due to the uneven braking the top of the pads if you have uneven wear on them ... hope this helps regards Vortash
The way you describe the issue, it sounds like a defective steering component (tie-rods,pitman arm, or idler arm), including upper and lower ball-joints. You may want to inspect the upper control arm bushings.
Is it auto or manual? also do you have ABS brakes?

I've thought about the bearings, could be but the ones I have are less than a year old. I DO need an upper ball joint on the right passenger front. I was wondering if it's possible for the drivers side brake rotor to be thinner than the other side, hence causing the braking to be uneven so it pulls to the right. I have removed and checked the right rear brake drum looking for my metal to metal sound,What I meant in my original posting about the speed, it never changes pitch, always the same no matter what speed, but never starts until I'm at least 15mph. I will check the other side soon and see what I find there.
