remove glove box, look on top of heater box in recessed portion. You will see a muti-wire plug facing up. This is the blower resistor. Check for burnt connections by removing plug (common problem). Blower high speed relay located above blower motor (also behind glove box). Check for burnt connections. Repair harness available through G.M. dealer.

Why does the cabin fan continue to run

If you have a variable speed blower motor, a bad motor speed controller can keep it running even with the key out of the ignition. See this post on blower motor controllers. https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/blower-motor-wont-shut-off/

I have an 02 Dodge Intrepid whose blower motor will continue to run after I turn the ignition off.

Will the wipers also work with the ignition off? If so, possible ignition switch problem. If wipers don't work, suspect shorted blower motor resistor or controller

Daytime running light/blower motor interaction

I have the same problem. I've heard the ignition switch harness is shorting out and replacing the ignition switch ($75-$125 part) will fix it. A few torx drivers and sockets are needed to replace it (a 4mm hex socket works for the column covers, but the bolts holding the ignition switch in are even smaller. I have it apart down to where I need a smaller torx socket to continue.)
