It is your service interval indicator - basically meaning oil change coming up. Check owners manual to see how to display days and miles until it is required (cant remember that exactly, think you just hold the odo button while turning on ignition). To reset, hold the odometer button and turn on the ignition, then push the clock minute button and this should reset the indicator.

SOURCE: how to disable the daytime running lights DRL in

There is no way to disable the daytime running lamps on a volkswagen, because the fuse is tied into other items that are vital to the functioning of the car. The only way to turn them off temporarily is to engage the hand brake.

Its to let you know you car is due for service. It set to turn on by milage. This seems to be the most common way of resetting the service reminder lights. Should also be the same for Jetta.

  1. 1

Sit in the driver's seat of the Passat and close all the doors.

  2. 2

Position the trip/odometer button to display the odometer mileage reading, then hold it down with the forefinger on your left hand.

  3. 3

Turn the ignition key to the "key-on/engine-off" position to turn on all the power options for the Passat without actually starting the engine. At this point, a service indicator light will display (in the form of a wrench).

  4. 4

Press the minute adjustment button on the clock (or turn the knob clockwise on European manufactured Passats) and release the trip/odometer button.

You have to pry open the carpet to exposed the assembly. Use a 10mm socket to removed the two nuts that hold the housing from the body. Once you get that done, you open the compartment and removed the bulb. Replaced and proceed the same way you removed it in reversed order.

2007 vw rabbit yellow power steering light coming on

VW rabbit 2007 has electronic power steering so you have to send it for diagnostic testing on an ODB II tester. It is the only way you going to pick up that intermittent fault. The error code on the diagnostic tester will reveal what is causing the problem. But go check out http://volkswagen-polo-highline.blogspot.com/ to see how this gets done.

If so - it could be anything.. A local shop can plug a computer into the car nad it will pull a code.. That code should indicate what is going on..
