2004 VW carravelle - sudenly loses power, particularly on slight incline. Stopping the engine & restarting solves for a while...?

The Vehicle suddenly loses power when driving, particularly on slight inclines. Problem is intermittent.Allowing the engine to stop & restart solves the problem for a short while.(Just switching off & on while engine is turning does not solve the problem even temporarily.I thought this might be a fuel pump or pump relay problem. I have already replaced the fuel filer.

SOURCE: 2000 vw beetle, turns over engine is firing will not run

My daughter had the same problem! It turns out the key had "deprogramed" itself. Sure enough, we used her spare key and the car ran like a champ. Oddly enough, the back-up key's remote did not work. VW wanted around $200 dollars to reprogram her key and about the same amount to get a new remote. We put the back-up key on the good remote and she is off to the races.

SOURCE: Engine stalls while driving. Fuel deprivation?

I am having the exact same problem with my VW Touareg @60,000 miles. Two weeks ago and again today it sputters and stalls shortly after starting. I brought it into the shop and they could not reproduce the problem and said it was fine. Also, they had no ideas when I describes the problem. Anyone know what it going on? I am out of warranty.

Stalls losing electric power

How old is the battery & have you tested it?
How is it that a month went by & your using
any vehicle that could let you down?
Why have all issues not been resolved ,as soon
as they started?
Have you checked for codes?
Have you had a professional scan tool on it
& checked data, that has to be done along with
many other checks or tests, unless it's just a battery
issue.
No one can solve any vehicle issue over the internet
There is always more to the story & you need the patient

What transmission problem can cause a slight pull when stopping?

If you mean when the vehicle is supposed to be standing stationary, a slight inclination ot move forwards on a level road is normal in an automatic. If the pull is excessive, the simplest thing is to reduce the idle speed slightly. If this does not answer your question, please give us a little more clarification on what you mean.

EPS and Check engine light on 2004 Volkswagen Passat Turbo

I note that you posted your question 14 Feb 09, so happy belated Valentine's Day! Anyway, I own a 2004 VW Passat 1.8 and am currently facing the same problem (EPC light and check engine light on) and subsequently, I coded it out, which was P0322. I took my other vehicle (more reliable) into the VW dealership in Olympia Washington. I was going to replace the EPC sensor, which typically handles what is sent to the car's brain, telling it how much gas it needs to run. However, the technicians at the dealership told me to code it out before investing any money without knowing exactly what should be replaced.

I took the code and determined the "crank sensor" was defective. If you call around, you should be quoted anywhere between $48 and $90 respectfully. If your VW was lurching like it was missing for a split second at a usual speed, or died at stops, then I would say you were experiencing the same problem I was having. Hopefully, this will fix your problem? The part is pretty inexpensive, but I think what VW charges to replace the sensor, is highway robbery. Anyone in your family mechanically inclined? Good luck! 2004 Dodge ram Diesel trubo is out

Have you guys checked your air filters? If it is indeed a bad turbo you can go to www.alldatadiy.com and buy a subscription for your vehicle that will give you the procedures to remove the turbo. It cost less than 20.00 and its good for 1 year and well worth the money. I think if you are slightly mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. Good luck and I'm here if you need me. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
