SOURCE: Alternator removal on 1997 Isuzu Trooper

My son just got the alternator off of my Trooper (1997) and he said removing the wheel is not necessary. He took off 2 bolts from the top and several from the bottom that were very difficult to remove but then the alternator came off pretty easy. He says if it loose then it should come off pretty easy, if it is not loose, you must be missing a bolt somewhere. He also says is you are in our area, call him and he will take it off for $100 =)

SOURCE: 1997 Isuzu Trooper alternator replacement

You'll have to rock the alternator back and forth to get the bushing that the lower bolt goes through to slide back enough for the alternator to slide out.

Where is the tcc selenoid location on a 2001 isuzu trooper gm4l30e transmission? im trying to replace this part due to a p1860 error code which is 'torque converter clutch selenoid circuit failure'

the transmission is super common GM box.
no lack free books ever google, 4L30 yet>

TCC has 2 parts not just one, 3 counting the TCM driver.
and 4 counting wire to and from.
the TCC lock is solenoid lock.
http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/4l30e.html

http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/mm5/graphics/Catalog-pdf/4L30E.pdf

the device below is just 1/2 half the path, to the actual lock.
the TCM engages this part below and it sends pressure to the
actual lock.either can fail, so can TCM.
its in the transmission.
the valve body.
the question really is which pan tiny or big.
2 in the front (here) see photo at end
3 in the rear, VB. not here total 5
the TCC on this car is PWM type. (modulated 2000+)

shows the conversion and how it all works too. all on one page.

all A/T trans have and inspection port on the trans bell lower.
this allows you to remove said , flex plate bolts..
2wd or 4wd.
i guess you are lost at this step here, in red circle.

Check engine and trans light are on a 2001 Isuzu trooper 2 X 4, I took it to auto zone the diagnostic check showed loose band on transmission I know that I need a torque wrench to adjust I need to know...

The band adjustment in not a torque adjustment. Drop the main pan on the transmission. You will see the valve body with filter on it. At the rear drivers side you will see a round dome piece with a flat flange with four bolts in it. Remove the bolts and take this cover off. Now you will see a round piston with an adjustment screw in it. Break the jam nut loose and tighten the allen bolt in until tight. Back off five complete turns and reset jam nut. When you have the pan off, take note of how much clutch material is in it. If you have a lot it could be time to replace the clutches. Also it is a good idea to put in a new filter if you are in there. Good luck
