Hitch in engine when my foot comes off the gas

Intermittantly, when I take my foot off the gas, there is a slight hitch in the engine. This happens mostly when I am going slower - under 30. I haven't noticed this at faster speeds. Any idea what is causing it?

This is a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee quadra drive.

We have a heavy duty tow bar so what is the towing capacity

https://www.uhaul.com/Frequentlyaskedquestions/202/Trailertowing-Rentals

How do I find my hitch system rating? Your hitch system is comprised of three components, the Hitch that is attached to the frame of your car, the Ball Mount (drawbar) and the Hitch Ball. Each component has a rating for capacity. The LOWEST rating of the three components determines the overall rating of your complete hitch system. For instance, you can have a 3500 lb hitch and ball mount, with a 2000 lb ball. Your hitch system is limited to the 2000 lbs towing capacity. https://www.uhaul.com/Articles/Tips/33/How-To-Determine-Your-Hitch-System-Rating

How should I prepare my durango to pull a 24 foot travel trailer...what class of hitch, do I need in-board electric trailer brake controls, etc.?

Hi Frank,
I have a Durango 2000 and pull a 24 foot ski boot loaded with equipment. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't try towing anything without the trailer brakes connected. I purchased the Titan Trailer brakes setup and they've never failed me once. The hitch: just make sure you get the right towing capacity for your travel trailer. I have the 5.9 liter engine, which allows up to 6500 pounds of towing capacity. Your owners guide will explain how many based on engine size.
Good Luck, and happy traveling.

1989 Chevy astro van rapid flashing engine light vehicle runs fine changed computer and prom chips. Runs fine for 28 miles then starts to flash rapidly. Vehicle runs fine.

These recurring check engine lights can really be a pain. Have you scanned for trouble codes? Sounds like it may be an O2 sensor, but we really need the trouble codes to be sure.

Depending on the condition of the vehicle and if you have a transmission cooler and what type of hitch you have:
1500 lbs with the bumper hitch - Max tongue weight on the bumper.
6 to 8000 lbs with a receiver hitch and torsion bars
8 to 10,000 with a Goose neck bed hitch.

Does a 1994 buick centry come with a hitch and if not what is every thing that i need for a hitch

No it's doesn't come with a hitch. To put one on you'll need to know what capacity hitch you need, towing weight of what is to be towed. A wiring harness to connect to the vehicle's brake lights, taillights and turn signals. U-Haul sells and installs hitches.

How do you install a trailer hitch?

Should come with complete instructions for your particular model car.

Have you purchased the hitch yet? Once you have the hitch and have reviewed the instructions, if you still have questions, please return and we will try to help you.

Please purchase your hitch from a brick and morter company in your neighborhood. An auto parts place iw where I would look. Don't try to save a couple bucks using mail order. It is hard to talk to the salesman of a mail order company with your concerns. You will also be assured of getting the proper hitch for your car the first time around.

Spare tire mount on 1986 Sieraa Classic

I had a similar problem with an 88 F250. Measure the tire height with tire standing, then measure space between hitch and measure frame from same place.
If the space between the frame would allow the tire to fit without the hitch, you need a wider hitch. If your current hitch has room for the tire you are all set.
Usually a heavier class hitch will have wider mounting points, but be aware that access to put in bolts may require you to weld the hitch to the truck.

Hitch in engine

If the "hitch" is minor, likely it's due to a sticking control valve somewhere...You could try some injector cleaner or manually clean the throttle body and see if it makes any difference. Could also be a small dead spot in the throttle position sensor. When problems are small, they often don't set codes because the fault does not meet the computers requirements to set one. Most larger parts stores will do free code testing though and you may want to have a scan done just to see if anything shows up. Problem could also be caused by a delay in downshift of transmission in which case a fluid change may help. This is where an experienced tech becomes most valuable...just test driving, the problem usually can be isolated to engine or transmission...No one here can feel the problem, only read about it, so the best suggestions may indeed be correct but not correct for your problem.

Brake lights do not work

This is a well documented problem, replace the turn signal/multifunction switch to correct this issue, this very problem happened on my GMC, it is a 99 as well, replaced the switch as instructed by a chevy forum member and it fixed the problem

Isuzu axiom pull camper

As I recall, your Axiom has a Tow Rating of 5000 pounds -- but check your Owner's Manual to be sure. I have several friends who tow with their Isuzus (using 1st and 2nd Gen model Troopers and Rodeos) and pull pop-up campers, high-profile campers, ATV trailers, etc... There's even even one guy who pulls his Trail Rig (another Isusu) to various off-road events on an 18-foot tandem axle steel frame trailer -- All of them do so without any problem whatsoever. The thing is, all of them use a Load Distributing Hitch System, such as this: http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/hidden-hitch-weight-distributing-hitch-systems.htm It makes a HUGE difference. Hope this helps.
