I can't locate the flasher relay on my 2001 malibu

The hazard switch is clicking a lot while driving. I know there was a recall on this part, but mine was replaced in 2004.The hazard lights will flash, and the turn signals still work. I replaced the switch, but the clicking still exists, but seems to be clicking less frequently. I read that the relay could be the issue.... but i cant find the location of the relay. thanks!

The HAZARD LPS fuse in the left hand instrument panel (LH IP) junction block supplies battery positive voltage to the flasher module, which is part of the hazard switch assembly.

Check up under the dash. Most are not far from the steering wheel up under the dash.

SOURCE: locating the turn signal flasher on 1993 corsica

The turn signal flasher is mounted in a clip on the right side of the steering column support bracket. The hazard flasher is located in the component center, under the instrument panel, on the right side. Replace the flasher by unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one.

It is located on the Fuse Panel Under the Dash on the Drivers Side. It is Right at the Top of the Fuse Panel. Should be the Large Round one. Some of them were Square Though.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

SOURCE: Where is the turn signal module on an 05 Malibu?

The modual is the trun signal it's self. Other than that it runs through the BCM and that distributs the power to the lamps.
Do the indiactors on the dash light up at all? Or do you just hear a clicking noise?

Where do i find the turn signal flasher on a 2001 malibu .

2001 Malibu does not have a separate turn signal flasher like the older Chevys did; your turn signal flasher and hazard flasher are both built into your hazard lamp switch. Please let me know if I may further assist you.

Flasher relay is clicking when signals are not in use?

Those are the typical symptoms of a problem with the mutifunction switch. The dielectric grease becomes impregnated with metal flakes, which jumps the contacts inside the switch. The clicking that you hear is the flasher relay located behind the glove compartment. Replacing the switch is not that hard for a DIYer. Some guys have remedied the problem by taking the switch apart, cleaning out the old grease, and applying new grease.

Turn signal or emergency flashers wont work. parts store says they cant find a flasher for them. I checked the turn signal fuse and its good. Any ideas?

The flasher is located above the fuse panel. The relays are built into the switch itself. They have a recall on the 4 way flasher switch because it is faulty and causes blinkers not to turn on. Very common Malibu and other Gm problem
