Where is the oil sending unit located on a Chevy S10 Pickup.

It is a 1998 4 cyclinder 2.2 motor Chevy S10 pickup. We put a new fuel pump on it and it still want start. We were told that if the oil sending unit is not working that it can throw the fuel pump off. Please help us!

I would not dismiss the possibility of the oil pressure switch being in the pump circuit...gm has used these on and off since the chevy vega. (remember them?)

It connects to the fuel pump it has 4 wires you shouldve got a replacement with it when you bought your fuel pump

Oil sending unit has nothing to do with the fuel pump. Sounds like bad wiring, or PCM issue.

    The PCM is the Powertrain control module. It is the brain of the vehicle. Can you hear the fuel pump turning on at all?

Check for ignition spark first.If no spark the pcm will disable the fuel pump relay.

HOW DO I REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP ON 2003 CHEVY S10 PICK UP

Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Drain the fuel tank through the filler pipe.
  3. Support the fuel tank.
  4. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Filler neck
    • Shield and tank straps
    • Fuel lines and vapor hose from pump and tank
    • Electrical connection from fuel pump
    • Fuel tank
    • Fuel pump/sending unit assembly by turning the locking ring (located on top of the fuel tank) counterclockwise using a spanner wrench
    • Fuel pump from the fuel lever sending device
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Fuel pump in tank with new seal around opening
    • Tank and connect fuel lines and vapor hose
    • Tank to the frame
      1. Torque to: 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm)
    • Shield
    • Fuel filler neck and clamp
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Refill the tank.
  3. Run the engine and check for leaks.

1998 chevy s10 won't start, engine cranks but it won't turn over.

replaced your fuel pump and when you buy it make sure to replace the oil sending sensor on the fuel pump it comes with a replacement when you purchase a new fuel pump

Oil sending unit

Hi,

It's usually threaded into the bottom of the block near the oil filter, it should have a wire running from the top of it.

Can anyone tell me were the oil pressure sending unit is located on 1998 chevy S10 2.2..???

I believe it's where the Oil filter is, not sure but most are there on the 2.2 chevy engines. Been a while since i played with a 2.2, good luck

93 chevy s10 blazer fuel pump replacement

try yhe pickup coil or ignition module wich are both located on the distributor or the igniton coil.im going through the same thing.all i have left to try is the ignition module.if i get it ill be sure to let you know
