Ignition won;t start. The key insert is loose and turns but won't start

Yesterday, I drove the car and was just fine. Today, I stuck the key in the ignition, turns real loose like it's striped and will not engage to start the car. Can't find a qualified lock smith to come and take care of the problem. What parts needs to be replaced?

The ignition switch may need to be replaced. im not sure if a lock smith can replace the ignition switch, call around to see if they can.

which engine?

the engine type dictates what wiring car has. (partly)

fix the stuck blinkers first. this implies, either ignition switch failure

or gross wiring errors, hacks gone wrong.

the key swtich does turn off blinker power feed.

When I put the key in the ignition it doesn't try to start everything else comes on then shuts off. I drove it yesterday but now it won't work

The remote starter module is not getting an electrical signal when you turn the key to the on position after remote stating the vehicle. When you depress the brake without turning the key on the vehicle shuts down. The remote module thinks the key is off even when you turn it on. There is a loose connection or the remote start device is defective.

I have a 2005 scionxb an dit won't always start. It doesn't make any noise when you turn the key. The battery is fine. The radio will not come on but the windows work.

There might be a ground wire loose or any of the positive wires coming off the battery might also be loose or coroded. That can also be part of your prior fuse problem. If its the same fuse that blows, that could be where your entire problem existes.

The battery in my 1998 Honda CRV works fine. Had a problem with the key sticking, now the key turns in the ignition but won't catch to start the car. Not sure what to do

Sounds like the ignition switch is worn out(or the linkage from the lock cylinder to the switch has come loose or something like that)
