There is an electrical problem. Get someone to scan the vehicle.

You might have to replace the alternator and the battery.

is the clicking noise when you try to start the car? This could be the starter clicking but the battery do not have any power to turn over engine. buy a new battery from Costco.

Disconnect the batter terminals and clean them.

My 1993 Toyota Corolla stalls and will not stay running.

If changing the battery does not solve problem, or only solves it until the battery dies then have the alternator tested. I have noticed on several occasions with a couple of my vehicles that at times of very high moisture in the air they do not stay running, once the humidity goes down they are fine.

My 2006 Toyota Corolla won't start. When I turn the light, all the dashboard lights come on, the radio and clock both come on, but it doesn't even sound like the car is trying to turn over.

Car batteries are very powerful. It's not uncommon for lights and radios to work eventhough the battery is too weak to turn over the engine.

I would try to find someone to give you a jump start. This would atleast help determine if the battery/charging system is the problem.

If it does jump start, let it idle for 10 minutes or so, then turn the engine off and try to start without a jump start. If it does start that would mean that the alternator is working properly. But, if it doesn't start you could have a bad alternator.

If you are able to get the car to a parts place most of them offer a free diagnostic test on batteries and alternators.

I hope this is helpful.

Same problem. 2006 corolla battery might be low but tried jumping it and that didnt work. it clicks a few times but does not turn over and then just goes dead.

When a battery is completely drained, it is very hard to get them to jump start. You will need to charge the battery.

2004 toyota corolla-battery is 1 1/2 years old. Car wouldn't start this morning or take a jump charge. No radio and interior light is dim. no clicking noise when I turn on the ignition. Any ideas?

bad connection from battery to car. If you hook up jumer cables adn you still have no lights, you have a bad connection. Loosen battery cables and wiggle them or take sandpaper and get a good clean connection.

On my 1998 Toyota Corolla, after it starts and runs fine..you turn the key off and it will not start again without a jump. After a quick jump it starts right away. The battery is only a year old. Is it the...

Check for loose battery terminals. Car will not start without jump because battery is not connected properly. Starter is probably good or car would not start with or without jump. If alternator is bad and not producing current, car would die after running a short while as battery would out of juice and without alternator current the car would die - so probably alternator is good. If connections are all good, get a voltmeter and test the battery voltage - it should be over 12.75 volts. If not, battery is not holding charge.

My Corolla just stopped while driving

The battery light is a good indictor the alternator is no longer charging and once the battery had been drained of it charge your car will stop.  One way to check it is to get the car started and take off the positive cable and if it stops it's more than likely your alternator.   If you can't jump start your car you have either a fuel issue or spark issue.

Remove the starter & inspect the contacts inside the starter solenoid housing. If they are burnt and/or worn, you will get this condition. Replace the contacts and the plunger, or replace the starter. I change contacts in my shop 3-4 times a week. Quite a common failure. The clicking noise is the plunger hitting one contact, but not the other, due to wear.
