The alternator belt is off of my daughters car but in order to replace it i need to remove the power steering belt but cant figure out where the bolts are that need to be loosened to get it off our kia spectra makes a terrible squeeling noise every time we start it up but only if the air conditioner is on. We have had to replace our alternator belt twice already, and now we have to replace it again. is there any relation? how do we fix this awful noise and this aggrivation?

Then you don't take anything off. There will be a spring loaded idler that tensions the serpentine belt. Take a socket or long 12 point wrench and attach to the center bolt of the tensioner, then rotate the idler wheel away from the belt, take the belt off. Slowly release the spring tension of the idler.
The 2nd belt should be set up the same way.

SOURCE: my kia spectra was making a loud squeeling noise

Look at the AC pump. See if the belt is there, slipping, or the pully clutch engaging.
The center of the AC pully can be standing still while the outside turns. There is supposed to be a magnet that grabs the outside and locks it to the inside when you turn the AC on. The magnet could be bad or its clutch slipping.

You have to jack the car up on the passenger side then remove the passenger side wheel. Place a jack stand underneath car and remove plastic cover that has two 10mm bolts. Then you have to take the alternator belt off to access the a/c belt. Loosen tension on a/c belt and remove.

I had my alternator replaced in my 2001 Kia Spectra. The belts really made noise after and for the second time the alternator belt has broken off. What is wrong?

whan a new belt is put on it will always stretch a littl;e after a few days and will need to be tightened,if its making noise....it most likely loose,so after the belt is replaced..drive it for a day or two then have it retightened, hope this helps
