The coolant in mill should be mixed ratio 32 parts water and 1 part coolant.it has 99 gal and is 40% full.existing mixture has 23 pts water and 1 pt coolant.i have to get it back to 32 to 1

Add 38 gallons of water to the current mixture assuming you have a 250 gallon tank. This will bring your current ration back to 32 to 1

99 gallons / 23 = 4.3
4.3(32-23)=38.7

99 gallons + 38 gallons = 137 gallons.
250 gallons - 137 gallons = 113 gallons Left to fill
113/32 = 3.5

Add 3.5 gallons of coolant to the remaining 113 gallons of water needed to fill your tank completely.

How many gallons of coolant does the northstar engine hold?

Coolant should be mixed in most cases to a 50% concentration, meaning one gallon of undiluted coolant will provide two gallons of diluted coolant. Most engines will hold 2-3 gallons of coolant mix. I normally purchase two gallons of undiluted coolant. I pour the first gallon of undiluted coolant into the radiator, then fill the empty bottle with water and add that to the radiator as well to make it a 50% mix.. Then, I pour half the second bottle of undiluted coolant into the empty coolant bottle, and then top both off with water to make two gallons of 50% mix. I then add coolant to the radiator as needed until full, keeping the remainder for topping off later as air purges itself form the system.

I have a 1997 buick skylark and my low coolant light is on so i bought a gallon of the local advance autos 50 50 and filled the resevor let the car run 5 min with cap off level stayed the same am i doing...

Are you sure the coolant is still low in the bottle. The coolant sensor thats in the bottle has a float that can stick. If it sticks the low coolant light will stay on even if the coolant level is right. Try tapping on the coolant reservoir bottle in the area where the electrical wire enters it. Not too hard. If that is the porblem the light should reset.
