SOURCE: security system malfunction

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

There is a help link with solutions, to troubleshoot these types of problems. I suggest going through these link.

2000 pontiac montana security system locked and it won't start. The information center on the van shows as follows; Low battery light, Then Security light, Then Low fuel light. Its full of gas. Help?

Does the security light come on when you turn the key to run ,Does it go off in a few min. The proper way to reset the anti-theft system would be to turn the key to the on position for 10 min. if the light goes out in that time ,turn the key off for a few seconds . Then try an start the vehicle . If light comes back on an won't start there is a hard fault . You mite at that point wan't to do a theft system by- pass . Also have your battery checked and or charging system . A low battery , a malfuctioning charging system may cause these type problems .

How do you bridge-out the anti-theft security system....it keeps kicking in and shutting down the van after starting

There is a problem detected within the security system by the security module. Try locking and unlocking the door with the key fob to reset the system. Sometimes locking and unlocking the drivers door using the key will reset the system as well. If still no luck, try the spare key to see if the security system accepts it

2001 Chevy express van replaced battery, security alarm will not shut off, van will not start

Hi. Is it a key or separate remote based alarm.if it is key based then there may be reset info in the owners hand book. Some cars are reset using the drivers door key barrel, turning left and right to simulate a number series on a pass card. If separate remote, I would try new batteries. Good luck

The van will start and run for about 2 seconds and quit i changed fuel pump, filter, distubitor, cam and crank sensors and module

Gm vehicles have been known to have faulty anti theft security systems. One of the symtoms of this is when your vehicle starts for 1-5 seconds and then stalls. A good way to know if this is the problem is when you see a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see this light flashing or on solid, this explains the van not starting. Security light flash no security system on truck

sometimes turning the ignition on 3 times quickly without starting will reset the computer. If the van has power locks and keyless entry then try using only the keyless entry. Sometimes your car wont have a alarm but an anti theft device which will not allow it to start if it goes off or something triggers it.
