Service engine light is on and had code checked and it is P0171 lean fuel. I have replaced air and fuel filters and PCV. With each part replaced I disconnected the battery as a way turn off the service engine light. However this does not turn off the service engine light. It comes on when the ignition is turned on without the engine being started. How can a problem of lean fuel be detected w/o the engine running?

you nead to check all you vacuum lines for leaks it sounds like you have a vacuum leak or the o2 sensor is going bad on bank 1 **** i still say vacuum leak

The error that I'm showing for error code P1133 is
P1133 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching bank 1 sensor 1(Rear Bank). I would suggest having both of your Oxygen Sensors replaced if you haven't already had that done. Hope this helps. Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.
