This 1997 4 door Camry has water pouring in during a rain shower while parked. It's enough to cause a puddle in the fwd floor passenger area. I have removed the glove box and plastic panels to expose all of the computer boxes and all I found was a few water droplets on some electrical connectors behind a plastic panel below and to the right side of the glove box, just forward of the front door. The water has to be pouring in from somewhere in that area to accumulate so much in the floor. I have tried using a water hose to pour over the seals and still cannot find the leak. It's like a big hole somewhere letting all of this water in, but it only seems to happen when it rains. Can you please help ? I am at my wits end. Thank you for your time. I have a 2000 Camry with NO sunroof, and just last week noticed about an inch of standing water on the back passenger floor area, as well as a damp front passenger floor areas. I made sure the hard plastic vent openings just below the windshield were free from any debris/leaves, hoping that had something to do with the problem. It is not related to the A/C drain lines because I hardly use my A/C and the water accumulates in correlation with rain storms. I have taken up some of the carpet as well as the front passenger kick panel, and can tell that the water is coming from the front to the back, underneath the floor liners. Any ideas on where to look for the source of the leak from the outside?
Pull your carpet up near the leak area and look for muddy body seams. it is possible one of the factory body seams are leaking- possibly in the cowl(under wipers) area, especially if it leaks when the car is sitting. there will be dirt/mud around the seams that are leaking. also you can check door seals by running the car on HIGH DEFROST with all doors and windows closed. spray around with a 50/50 soapy water solution. obviously bubbles will form around your leak.
As stated to someone else have you had any bodywork done,it sounds like the wing seal under the bonnet,(hood0 is corroded or if it has been replaced not sealed correct.YOu can if it is a bolt on pannel unscrew it & suirt a water sealent inbetween the 2 pannels especialy near the bottom.when it rains it throws all the water into the car

If your car has a sunroof, there are drains from the front corners of the sunroof, and they drain down the sides of the windshield pillars, and then empty out on the ground.
What I would do is open the surnroof, and pour water into the front corners, and then oobserve where the water drains out. If you have a difference in water drainage between the left and the right sides, I would think that you may have loose sunroof drain. They commonly come loose at the sunroof corners. This will allow the water to pass down the windshield pillar, and onto the floor.
Also, I would check the condensate drain tube for blockage. Pull back the carpet, under the glove box, and fins a black hose that pokes thru the firewall. Pull it out, and see if it is blocked internally. If this tube is clogged, water will build up in the heater box, as the black tube is the drain for the heater box.
One of the two above solutions will cure your problem. I see both quite often.

there are drain hoses on all all four corners of the sunroof. to access the front ones, remove the front inner fender liners. you'll probably see a plastic grommet/spout that the drain hose attaches to. in the rear, remove the trunk liners on the side. you should see the drain hoses running down the inside of the quarter panel.
