A fuel pump is not the problem, they either work or not, u are most likely having a loose of ignition spark, possible ignition module.

My ford probe gt was going down the road, died as i was driving it. will not start

You will need to find out if you lost spark to the plugs or fuel to the injectors to proceed.
Let me know if you need more info.

I have a 1993 ford probe. It just dies while driving and the fuel cutout light comes on. It takes several minutes before starting again

Hi

Might not be related to the fuel but in fact the air mass sensor, thing is the car has to have the right mix of air to fuel and at times the code can come back as a fuel fualt when in fact it is a lack of air not to much fuel.

I would look at the air mass sensor, give it a clean with some carb spray, dont touch it physically just spray it leave it dry natuarally then refit, the part is located off the air pipe, black air pipe with a wire and sensor going into it. its an easy job to do your self, might not cure it completely but if you see an improvement then at least you know what part you need, they cost about £40 max

93 Ford Probe won't start, possible fuel pump?

Fuel filters are cheap (less than $20.00 for the premium filter at Napa) and easy. If you've never changed it, you should do it anyway. It would at least make sure that it's not the filter if the problem still exists. On the bonus, you've got a new fuel filter.

Car dies going down the road

First thing i would check would be the fuel filter. Sometimes, when they first start to give problems, there is enough gas to keep them idling or driving around town, but when you get on the highway they starve for fuel.

Access panel for the fuel pump on a 1993 ford probe

the 93+ probe's (2nd generation) DO NOT have an access panel under the seats, or anywhere. only the 89-92 probe's did (1st generation) To gain access to the fuel pump, you have to drop the gas tank. or get handy with a cutter, and hope you dont blow yourself up.
