The dealer can get it for you with his scanner but will charge you 1/2 hour of time.
It also is on plastic card that came with your owner manual packet. Look there first.

Just purchased a 2003 mountaineer from a used car dealer and they don't have the manual and the alarm doesn't work. How do I get the factory entry code?

the keyless entry code is on the module and in the module memory. A dealer can extract the code ( about $50). You can access the owner manual on line at motorcraft.com, pro center, tech info, owner manual. I have one for $7 plus postage. let me know. Also, look for a plastic credit card in teh glove box with the code on it. The module should be under the dash, driver side I think.

Programming/Erasing Personal Code
A unique personal five-digit code can be programmed by following these steps:
  1. Enter the factory set five-digit code (the keypad will illuminate when pressed).
  1. Press 1/2 within five seconds of Step 1.
  1. Enter the unique five-digit code.
The personal code does not substitute for the permanent factory set code. Either code can be used to access the vehicle. In addition, if a second personal code is programmed, it overwrites the previous personal code. To erase a personal code, carry out the following procedure:
  1. Enter factory set five-digit code.
  1. Press 1/2 within five seconds of Step 1.
  1. Press 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time within five seconds of Step 2.
The system now responds only to the factory set code.
Anti-Scan Feature
To provide added security, the keyless entry pad is disabled for one minute after 35 button presses without a valid entry code being entered. The keypad flashes during this one-minute mode with all functionality disabled except for 7/8 and 9/0 still being allowed to lock the vehicle.
Anti-Scan will be turned off after one minute of keypad inactivity.
Unlocking the Doors and Liftgate with the Keyless Entry Keypad System
To unlock the driver door, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lamps will illuminate.
To unlock all doors, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (driver door unlocks) and press the 3/4 control within five seconds.
To open the liftgate window glass, enter the factory set code or the personal code (driver door unlocks) and press the 5/6 control within five seconds.
Locking the Doors with the Keyless Entry Keypad System
It is not necessary to enter the factory set or personal code prior to locking all doors. To lock all doors, press the 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time

How do I reset the remote door unlock code?

For "delete" your personal code, first be sure that you have the factory keypad code...

1. Enter the factory set 5-digit code.
2. Within five seconds, press the 1 - 2 on the keypad and release.
3. Press and hold the 1 - 2 for two seconds. This must be done within five seconds of completing Step 2

All personal codes are now erased and only the factory set 5-digit code will work.

Hope this help (remember comment and rated this help).

2001 ford explorer sport, door keypad reset

How to find the Security Keyless Keypad Code on the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or Mountaineer and how to use the Keypad functions. The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located in the left rear quarter behind the removable panel (see photo). You will need to turn the two thumb screws counter clockwise and take the plastic panel off to be able to see the unit. A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the 5 digit code on it like the one shown below.

Now that you’ve got the code I’ll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code.Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.

I just bought a 2002 explorer and it has a keypad entry system. There are no books with it. How do I find the code or enter a new code.

BEHIND DRIVER DOOR PANEL OR RIGHT SIDE REAR TRIM PANEL LOOK AT PASS SIDE REAR DOOR OPENING AND PULL REAR TRIM OUT THERE its a five digit code

To erase any personal code set by the prior owner, use these steps:
1. Use the keypad to enter the factory set code.
2. Within five seconds, press the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously.
3. The system will now respond only to the factory set code.

You can program your own personal code via these steps:
1. Use the keypad to enter the factory set code.
2. Within five seconds, press the 1/2 button
3. Within five seconds, begin entering your personal five digit code.
(Each subsequent keypress must be within five seconds of the previous)
4. The system will now respond to both your new personal code and the factory set code.
5. Put the factory set code you wrote down in a safe place. It will always open your door, and it won't do you any good if locked inside your vehicle.

Hope this help

Need factory code for keyless entry pad

To locate the original keypad code, open the passenger/rear door. Pull the on-body rubber weatherstrip out, around the rear side of the door closure. Fold the right/rear seatback down into the locked position to facilitate access to the right/rear seat belt anchor. Carefully pry the upper plastic panel that houses the height adjuster and seat belt anchor off the body taking care not to damage the panel. Now pry the lower panel outward just far enough to enable access to the Vehicle Security Module, where you'll see three electrical connectors plugged into it, coloured green, grey, and blue. On the module will be a series of digits on a label similar to 5L2T-15K602-EA. Beside those digits are five numbers. Those five numbers are the keyless entry keypad code.
