I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring LX 2.4L engine with a check engine light on. The code is P2004 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open. What will it cost (roughly) to get this fixed? Is it something I can do on my own?
That's all wrong the air intake system is faulty the intake or plenum is $400 and the instal is about 30 minutes to 1hour if that!
You can only get the part from the dealer if you want i will be replacing one in the next couple days i can send a video

what engine? So the guy running the test could'nt point it out to you? You need to find a shop that qualified to repair the car. its a valve on the intake manifold that opens and closes to help th engine produce the most power at low and high rpm. they get stuck. sometimes you can clean them.

off the top of my head I am not sure w\hat exactly that code is although I do now it sound familiar. Most code tat are p one codes are usually more of an electrical problem or even a sensor. For that code all I can say right now is possibly a speed sensor issue or wiring

This from an owner with the same code, indeed it is the intake maniflod that causes the issue.
P1004 is a intakemanifold short runner valve performance. they replaced the intake manifold plenum. cost $1200, but they repaired under warranty in the interest of customer satisfaction. my base warranty is out by milage, yet they repaired it for free. now that is a great dealership. I would talk to the dealer, this is a manufactirer defect, also it may be covered under federal emission warr. 7/70,000

P2096 is bank 1 lean code. This can be caused typically by a hole in a vacuum hose coming from the motor. Typically a hole will be found from heat and oil damage in a 90 degree bend of a hose running from the air intake to the PCV valve. You may have to remove that whole section (multiple bends usually) and do a very close visual inspection or feel around for a soft spongy area on the hoses. If it feels soft, there is very likely a hole at that point and it feels soft because the rubber thickness is thinner from melting. Other vacuum leak places to check includes the large rubber hose from the brake booster to the intake. If this is not the issue you could have a faulty fuel injector and typically using injector cleaner will not fix that problem.
