A fuse contains a thin metal bridge between two terminals. When too muchelectrical current is drawn through the fuse the bridge melts, breaking thecircuit. This feature prevents damage to electrical components and limits thepossibility of a fire. The Chevrolet Blazer utilizes small fuses to protect thevehicle's wiring harness from overload. These are typically plug-in blades, notthe glass-barrel fuses used in older
vehicles.
Location
The fuse panel ona Chevy Blazer is located on the driver's side of the firewall beneath thedashboard. Some later models may be equipped with a fuse panel cover. To removethe cover, pull the retaining clips loose on each side and lift the cover fromthe panel.
