Fords have the reset switch option only. Relays are mounted on the firewall

89 deville stopped while I was driving could it be starter relay switch

Your starter is only used while starting the engine. It will not make an engine die while it is running.

Where is the ESD relay located on a 1989 Cadillac Sedan Deville?

Hi , what problem are you having ? There is no such relay on a 89 Cadillac ! Could you possibly mean a ASD relay - auto shut down relay ? That component is used on Chrysler products !

No fuel pressure when cranking over. dump gas down carb and runs til fuel is gone. Its a 89 caddy deville with 4.5, has sat for two years. Is it the fuel pump or could it be the fuel relay? If relay, where...

More often than not it is the fuel pump, especially with sitting for a couple years, hopefully empty if not try and get out as much of the old gas as possible when you replace the pump.

1989 cadillac deville. was running fine. then just cut off after about 5 miles.turns over but wont start now. has plenty of fuel in tank.

check to see if you have spark it could probably be that you have either a crank sensor issue or that the cap or rotor is bad

Have 1989 CADILLAC DEVILLE ,WAS RUNNING FINE BUT REPLACED THEMOSTAT AND NOW SOUNDS LIKE TRYING TO START BUT NOT . DONT NOW IF FUEL PUMP NEEDS TO BE RESET OR WHERE ITS AT ON CAR? ANBODY HELP THANKS

the fuel pump is inside the tank. did the distributor cap get wet when you were installing the thermostat? check to see if the wires are pluged into the distributor cap well. if you use a fuel pressure gage you will be able to determine if the fuel pump is working.

Can you use a obd2 meter on 1989 cadi deville

The fuel pump relay is located behind of the glove box. The fuel pump fuse is located in the same box (Relay Center). The fuel pump relay is either the 2nd or 3rd one down in the 2nd row. You may want to check your computer codes and make sure it is not your ECM or BCM as they can shut down ones fuel pump too.
