I have a 1997 Chevy K1500 that has the internal part of the passenger air bag shutoff switch broken. Is there a way that I can enable the passenger air bag without the switch?
To even touch the system or "jerry" rig it is just disaster waiting to happen..

Did you check fuel pressure to make sure you are getting proper fuel pressure? If it will start with starting fluid then it has to be either fuel related or electrical. Are you getting power to your fuel relay? When you turn the key on can you hear your fuel pump come on? I would not use anymore starting fluid at all to try and start it other wise you cause major problems.

Good chance it's the resistor . Will be in circuit between switch and blower, usual locations are on ducting under dash on passenger side, or behind glove box. Locate wires coming from blower motor, and follow them back to resistor.
Testimonial: "Thanks, I'll try replacing the resistor."
