I have changed a few cylinder heads under warranty for this type of problem. The exhaust valve guides wear, this causes the exhaust valve to seat badly, giving low compression. if one cylinder compresion reading is more than about 50 psi below the others, then this warrants head removal. It is quite a job, due to the fact that the camshft id chain driven. If you are up for it then once the head is removed, poor liquid into the exhaust ports and see if it leaks out through any of the exhaust valves.

I drove my van and got stuck in the snow so i rocked it back and forth and now it sounds like a ticking like it doesn't have oil but it does i have replaced the plugs plug wires and the coil going to...

I think you're right friend, but do a compression check first. It may only be a valve, but still means a tare down. I gotta do the same thing on my Ranger 3.0l. It all points to a bad valve after I've replaced everything else it could be in hopes of no tare down. Oh well, the weather is finally getting better for it anyway.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PO301 CODE?

The error code p0301 ,This code is related to misfire. The cylinder is misfiring. p0301 this is the indication of cylinder number 1 ,that is misfiring. If the code comes up as p0300 this is the indication of random misfire from all the cylinders. But in your case its indicating p0301 this is indication of cylinder 1 misfire.Check cylinder 1 and replace the faulty cylinder 1 to clear the fault. The spark plugs and the wires connecting to spark plugs also needs to be checked. Keep updated with any more query.Thanks.

Wlhat will it cost to repair #2 & 5 cylinders that are misfiring on a Olds Silhouette van?

Find someone with a Tech II scanner or an otb scanner and have them check to confirm it is the cylinders and not the spark plug wires or something.

Both ball joints need replacing

just normal wear, i am like you, they should last longer, and some do, and others don't, thats the nature of the beast. back in the day, they put grease serts in so you could grease them, and very seldom they went out. you did not do any damage to them from the snow or by rocking back and forth. hope this shead some light on your delima.
