SOURCE: I have high idle on start up? I swapped a 1996

Try unplugging the TPS, then start it. If the idle drops, you've found your problem.

2002 Chevy express 4.3 engine stalling out and runs rich.

It seems like the problem lies with the engine management system, rather than the brakes. Given that you've already replaced the MAF, MAP, and TPS sensors, here are some other things to check:

1. Vacuum leaks: Inspect all vacuum lines for cracks or damage that may be causing a leak. A vacuum leak can cause erratic idling, poor acceleration, and stalling.

2. Idle air control (IAC) valve: The IAC valve controls the engine's idle speed. A malfunctioning IAC valve can cause the engine to stall during idling. Try cleaning the IAC valve with carburetor cleaner and see if the issue is resolved.

1997 buick lesabre- scan codes p300,p420,p1870,p1641. new plugs, wires, oil, filter, throttle blade cleaned, maf sensor, tps changed. now no acceleration with rough idle. could it be iac valve?

How about a blocked exhaust converter

They only last 12 to 14 years, under perfect
fuel trim conditions, with no misfires & you have
those or did

You changed the fuel filter & checked pressure at the motor?

IAC-Idle air control--so no--idle control is not your problem

When i unplug my IAC it stays the same wondering if thats normal? sometimes it idles right but most of the time it idles low when i unplug the IAC it stays the same. thanks in advance

The idle speed would not change if you unplug the IAC. It has a small electric motor that opens and closes the air port depending on a signal from the engine computer. The motor won't move if you unplug it.

High idle on 86 Ford Bronco II (2.9L). Have replaced IAC, TPS and ECT. Also checked all vacuum lines. No fix. Need help.

I have heard of coolant sensors staying cold and keeping idle high but not a particular model.

2003 impala intermittent high idle with high iac count iac tested good

Before buying a ECM for the car I would do a smoke test on the vacuum line to be sure there is no leaks and causing the idle to very. Hope this helps.

1996 ford bronco 5.8 litre, auto, engine idle has

Do you have a check engine light on? First thing I would do is unplug the IAC motor when the engine is warm. If the idle speed doesn't change you have a vacuum leak or a bad IAC motor. If the idle speed goes down you might have a bad TPS or IAC

Could a faulty TPS cause my truck not to kickdown?

iac is for idle, and a bad tps sensor has a major effect on transmission shifting. the tps is what interfears with kickdown.

Changed mass air sensor still stalling 1997 nissan pathfinder

As a factory Nissan trained Technician with dealership experience - it can be many things, but it sounds alot like a mis-adjusted or faulty TPS, and/or a faulty IAC(Idle air control) valve - I'd try the TPS and set to appx. .50 vdc (.47/.49) Volts DC and if that isn't it, I'd definitely look to the idle air control valve ( allows for air bypass - sometimes called bypass air control valve). May then need base timing and idle set at shop with OBDII ignition disabling option, for seting timing and idle, otherwise computer won't allow proper setting...then if connector to IAC is OK - should be just fine...
