You must first charge on low side with a guage to 33-35 psi and as far as the sensors go if it has climate control you must have complete knowledge of the system to run tests

Air conditioning light flashes a few seconds after engaging

Hi,

To my knowledge, a common fault on this year/model is problem with the Air Conditioning (A/C) Expansion Valve which would require replacement. With this in mind, this may be the reason a warning indicator flashes.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

The gauges on my dashboard keep dropping to nothing while driving

possible short of the circuit, power steering needs compression from the engine,if the dials drop they indicate a failure or intermittent blockage, check earth connection on car to the body, make sure the right type of battery is fitted and and disconnect battery allow the car to cool down before replacing to see if a sender unit is failing every now and then

The air condition in my 2003 trailblazier works in the back, side, and floor. The vents in the front will not blow out any air. Sometimes it works and sometimes it will not.

{: ) You can try this: Turn a/c and ignition switch off. Wait a few seconds, then turn ignition on but don't start yet. Wait forty seconds while tring to listen for some unusual noise underneath the dashboard (near the gas pedal area). Something like an air vent door getting stuck or binding.
Afterwards start the vehicle, wait another forty seconds again before you check again a/c operation. If the problem persists, the possibilities are: a faulty mode actuator, a binding air vent door, or the HVAC actuator harness. The last two possibilities may require removal of dashboard, partly or wholly. I just hope you get lucky.

I have trouble starting my van and later on the check light came on (P1607). The car can no longer start but sometimes when I fiddle with the battery it would start up again and when it does it runs fine....

P1607 means "powertrain control module (PCM) internal circuit malfunction". According to the factory service manual, a low battery condition can cause this. This code can also pop up after the battery has been jump started.

You need to reset the PCM. To do this, turn the ignition switch off. Remove the No. 13 fuse (7.5Amp) from the passenger's under dash fuse/relay box for at least 10 seconds. Put the fuse back in. That should complete the reset.

Now to check again for the code: turn the ignition switch to on (not start.) Wait 30 seconds. If the check engine light stays OFF, turn the ignition switch off and wait 10 seconds. Turn the ignition switch back to on (not start). Wait 10 seconds. If the check engine light stays OFF, you had an intermittent fault and it has now been reset--everything is fine. If the check engine light comes back on during these checks, have the code that set read out. If the code is P1607 again, then you may have to have the PCM tested at the dealership for an internal fault.

2000 chevy lumina. Is fan supposed to come on when car started

no fan comes on when engine cold start up .but it will come on when you turn on air conditioning or defrost on .if engine idling a while when temp get 190 degree the fan will kick on.if over heating you got air in system .wait until cools check coolant add more .crank engine let it idle few. minutes when start warming up turn off engine wait a while before removing radiator cap so you wont get scald.add more coolant .crank it again starting warming up turn off engine wait a while .add coolant .keep doing this procedure until your coolant stop dropping off .if you do this more than 6 times you got a leak some where.check crank level for signs.if oil level higher than normal.if everything looking good.when engine cool make sure add coolant to over flow jug cold level mark.

Kia rio air conditioning light?

The manual instructions are basically:

Turn the fan to 0 (off, far left).
Turn the air control to full defrost (far right).
Press the recirculation button at least 5 times within 3 seconds.

If you've done it right, the recirculation button light will flash a few times at about 1/2 second intervals.

I've tried it on mine and this works.
