Radio does not turn on - 2003 Volkswagen Passat

no car told, maker , model year.
2005 Radio year or car year or both

did car come new with this radio.?
does radio turn off key off?
does radio turn off drivers door open key off.
does radio turn off ,only key off and only 10 minutes later (normal))_

just you just buy used car and never seen before how DPO delayed power off features worK?

What make , model an year vehicle ? Check fuse's ? Relays . Looking at a wiring diagram to see where power (battery + ) comes from . Pull the radio an check power an ground at the radio connector .

check to see if the radio has a timer in the controls and if so turn the timer off as it is probably turning off the radio for you.

The antenna wire has been wired wrongly to receive full time current whenever the vehicle is turned on. It is supposed to be wired to the remote turn-on wire from the radio, so it goes off whenever the radio is turned off.It will have to be rewired to work correctly.

what you may do is....turn the car off and then turn the radio on.. don't do anything with the car for one hour. meaning leave the radio on for one full hour and the radio itself will reset itself. the radio will turn off.turn the radio on..on the radio it will say... BOSE..press and hold both button RDS and FM2 until the radio resets to 0000 ..then enter in your code..once you enter your code press and hold the two buttons again..this will work...

I have the SAME EXACT problem. I thought it was the radio - bought another - went to change the units - heard an electrical arc - now the car cranks but doesn't start and the new radio doesn't work either!!! (not that it matters anyway)

disconnect the battery for a few minutes..or pull out the radio / back up fuse or the ecu fuse...then insert ur radio code....

This worked for me (radio in 2003 VW Golf):
Radio says "CHECK" but is otherwise unresponsive. Turning car or radio on/off doesn't help.
On the far right of the radio, there's a round TUNER button. Press it for 5 seconds. Your screen will then show some digits, but the unit is still unresponsive.
Press tuner button again for 5 seconds. Radio should now be 100% again. Let me know if this works for you.
