SOURCE: Maxima - terrible vibrations in low speed

A bad tire, a loose wheel, a loose tie rod end, a bent rim, (tire balance at higher speeds), a piece of rust or whatever caught between the rim and brake rotor, or between the brake rotor and hub. Have you done anything to it prior to this starting?

I had this issue and it was one of my winter tires about to blow out, showing signs of weakness.. hopefully this helps!

SOURCE: car starts ok will idle but when you go to drive

Does it overheat at all?

White smoke? or Dark grey smoke?

Could be Oxygen sensor (grey) or head gasket (white).

SOURCE: feels like its stuttering when

Possible causes for your problem are:

  1. Cracked distributor cap
  2. Bad spark plug wires
  3. Fouled spark plugs
  4. Bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor
  5. Bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor
A visual inspection of the top 3 should take the least amount of time. Look for cracks in the distributor cap, burned spots inside the cap, bare spots on the spark plug wires. Pulling a spark plug and looking for evidence of oil to determine if it's been fouled.

1997 dodge intrepid is stuttering in reverse

That fluid and filter is due to be changed. The stuttering is evidence off low charge pump pressure at the reverse clutch pack . Filter service should be done every 80,000 miles.

Intermittently have to use charger to start.

the most common cause of this by far is lights left on by defective switchs, these include the map lights in the visors, the glove box light due to a defective switch, the trunk light and the hood light if equipped, check it at night and look for a faint glow, the other much less common cause is the alternator has a defective diode and allows a small current to pass to ground drawing the battery down..
