How to remove ashtray/ coin holder in 2000 tl

Located center console, underneath coin holder/ashtray.
Pull coin holder up and out and OBDII SERVICE connector is behind it.Good luck

pull out then up and out

pull all the way out then lift upwards while pulling. it comes out on an angle.

The OBDII connector is located in the center console just behind the ashtray. There is a plastic cover that must be removed and you will find the connector behind the cover.

You will probably end up having to break the ashtray to get it out. This happens on most cars when ppl use the ashtray as coil holders. Just pull really hard and rip the tray out, see if you cause any damage. Sorry, but this is the only way ive done it in the past.

remove the plastic panel underneath the ashtray and you'll see it

There should be a tiny tab at the back of the ashtray that you'll need to pry away from the dash and the ashtray should pop out

look behind the coin pocket / ashtray.  It is a 16 pin OBD II connector.

right above the coin holder shine a light up in there you will see a tab stick a screwdriver in there seperate the tabs and the cup holder will come out

open the cup holder shine a light above it you will see a tab you can use a screwdriver to seperate the tabs and the cup holder will slide out
