Does it get hotter if you just let it run without driving?
The thermostat you put in, did you make sure to put the solid copper side into the engine block and not the other way around?
Are you running water alone, or have you a proper coolant mixture?
Is the electric fan running all the time?

Sorry, need more info on this one.

SOURCE: Overheating and heater not work

there is a valve on the water pump and one on the thermostat housing open those up one at a time until you get a little bit of antifreeze come out then tighten them back up. All you will be doing is bleeding the air out of the cooling system. my car was doing the same thing after I changed my thermostat.

SOURCE: coolant problem

Sounds like you might have an air pocket in the cooling system. This can develop, usually after a service, where the cooling system has to be opened to replace a water pump, thermostat, or other reason. When refilled, the air displaced by coolant has to go somewhere. In many cases, youll find that air is trapped in the highest place it can go...above the level of the radiator cap or overflow bottle. This can be a portion of the upper rad. hose, a heater hose, or a coolant line running thru various parts of the intake/throttle body area. What I do after topping up the system, is let the engine warm to normal op. temp./ W radiator cap still off. When upper hose becomes hot, you know thermostat is open. Now, if a bleeding device is not present, back off a hose clamp at the highest point in the system. Take a pair of pliers and twist the hose just enough to break the seal. You should see steam or drops escaping from your "breach". Once the steam stops and becomes all coolant, you have likely bled all air from the system. Top up radiator and coolant bottle to proper mark and close the system. (tighten your hose clamp) Check for leaks. Keep an eye on your system for a day or two, to insure no leaks are present.

Road

Caution! As with any task that involves opening the cooling system...Coolant and water can become very hot. Hot water and steam can be very dangerous. If you dont feel qualified to perform this task, let a mechanic do it!

SOURCE: 2002 kia sportage temp gauge runs hot while driving

Cheak to see that the coolant fan is operating with the A/C turned on. The fan has to work to help the engine stay cool and help the A/C. When you apply heat on the control it acts to reduce the coolant temp. You will have to get the coolant fan operation checked. This can be :fan motor, fan relay, temp sensor and computer. Good luck

How many teperature sensor does geo tracker have

normally one
it is near the thermostat housing and has up to 4 wires attach to the plug
it is used to repot engine coolant temperature to the ECM so that air/fuel mixture can be adjusted and the fans switched on through a relay
don;t confuse it with a coolant temperature sender which has 1 wire and works the temp gauge

on all cars ,before messing, pull the NEG battery lug first.
this prevents blowing out those big puppy fuses.

93 geo tracker still overheating

The coolant has to flow thru the radiator to cool the engine. So you could have a faulty water pump where the impeller is not pushing enough liquid thru the radiator.
Or there may be a restriction of air flow thru the radiator.
Or there could be a problem with the exhaust system or something that is causing the engine to produce more heat than normal.

2004 dodge stratus R/T with 2.7 heater blows cold air and it has coolant and new thermostat and the overflow boils over without the temp gauge being above halfway. how do you fix that?

Sorry to say but i have had plenty of experience with dodge vehicles and have ran into this problem before.....its your head gasket sucking air...(hence the bubbles in your overflow tank isnt from being hot....its the air escaping from your engine)......Plus the posiblility of your heater core being clogged....
