Shifting bad< (shoe falls to floor?)
the codes are error, and that cause the mechanic to do tests
based on that, its covered in the FSM if you want read that.
this car is a Daewoo, in snakes skins, its not a Suzuki.
p07xx means trans.
http://engine-codes.com/p0717_suzuki.html

what do they the do, well they read the page on 717
and see where that sensor is , and look at it.
to see if the cable is damage, after all , its in harms way?
road hazzard hits at and Bam. huh> or it fall off. or has a corroded
connector.
id look at the FSM or login to alldata.com and look up 117
It may mean the sensor on the out put shaft of the tranny is dead
if this true, (me too lazy to log in now) the trans goes to limphome
and shifts funny. in most cars the tranny uses the back up
sensor for speed. when the tranny HQ sensor fails.

also gloss transmission slippage can try the rear trans sensor.
due to slips so bad, the tranny thinks the sensor is bad.
login to alldata.com and read.

I have a trouble codes p0717 and p0700 on a 2006 Cadillac cts 3.6 the car shifts crazy and while pushing on the brake it locks up anyone know what's going on please help

P0717 is for the transmission input speed sensor , which inturn will bring up the other code P0700 for the Trans Control Module , so i would suggest having the codes cleared and see if they come back as sometimes a glitch can occour , if codes reappear and so do the symptoms i would replace the input speed sensor , it reads the primary pulley speed and sends info to the TCM and as far as i know there are no diagnostic s to carry out as this sensor either works properly or fails so get it changed and hope its not the TCM as well, keep me posted if you wish

Codes Po1618 and P0717- Arrow on dash flashes, cleared the codes and arrow flash comes back. all vss has a ohn reading of 616 to 620. I don't know if the problem is in abs module or transmission. How and...

    code p0717 refers to turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor--no signal===causes wiring--TSS sensor---ECM/TCM
code p1618 refers to transmission control module (TCM) MIL request==causes-- automatic transmission malfunction. I would say that you have 2 faults On is a turbine sensor that would account for the speed variation. As for the other have a pressure test done on the box to check for internal failures. Check for wiring to the TCM and see if the TCM can be tested .. Have an reputable auto transmission shop do the tests

    Volvo P0717 Input Speed Sensor

The P0700 is not a true fault code, it just means that the powertrain control module has requested the Transmission control module to turn on the check engine light to alert you of a fault. The P0717 is the one you need diagnosed, it is the real problem,.

My kia engine light came on and the scan said 717.. what does that mean?

I'm assuming you mean P0717? Trans Input Speed Sensor.
This sensor tell the computer the speed and position of the transmission.

Once this sensor is replaced the code will need to be cleared from the computer.

Codes p0722 and p0717 what is the problem?

p0722 stands for output speed sensor, this sensor might be in need of replacement, p0717 is for transmission turbine speed sensor, P0717 code comes with the following symptoms: engine cutting out, misfire and hard start after the engine is warmed up. check the coil plugs which is the equivalent of spark plugs except it does not have any plug wires. Start with the mileage and if the engine has over 100k miles, usually the coil plugs are worn. You can check it by checking the coil plug wells on the valve cover. If soaked with oil, the coil plug is normally shot and this goes the same for the valve cover gasket. Apparently, when the valve cover leaks oil, it is deposited in the coil plug well and starts shorting the coil plugs because of the contaminated oil. Note: when changing coil plugs, always replace them ALL as a set.

DTC (diagnostic trouble code) P0340 is indicating a fault has occured in the camshaft position sensor system of the cars' electronic engine control system. DTC P0717 is for a transmission input turbine shaft speed. Typically these codes are unrelated. Both the sensors are variable reluctance devices. They have no moving parts and as such are robust and not usually prone to failure. But they can and do fail. Are either codes "hard" faults or are they in the continous memory of the computer? Does the P0340 clear itself when the engine is shut off and restarted? Can you cause the P0340 to reoccure just by starting the engine and with out driving it and revving the engine to 1500 to 2000 rpm for 1 to 2 minutes while in Park? The P0717, when cleared should only reoccure when the car is driven. If the camshaft position sensor has been replaced and still the same code occures make sure you have the correct information as to the meaning of this code in regards to your particular model year and engine. Does the engine have a camshaft position sensor for each camshaft? If so what is the DTC code for the other camshaft position sensor. Yes, the engine's computer (ICM, PCM, ECM, all terms for same thing) could be faulty but in most cases this is not the problem. Does the transmission seem to shift properly? You probably won't notice a differnece in the way the engine runs if the camshaft position fails due to the default stratagy used in the ICM. Wiring would be my next area of concern. Does the wiring for the camshaft position sensor and the transmission sensor go through the same wiring harness and could you have a poor connection at some point in that harness? Inspect the wiring and the hardshell connectors throughout the harness. Let me know what you find out. Thanks
