the transmission filter is possible plugging up. When the car is off the fluid flows backwards through the filter into the transmission pan. Once the car is started, the fluid goes through the filter, if there is a lot of debris in the pan it will suck it up into the filter. then once the filter plugs up the fluid cant get to the clutches inside the transmission. thus it feels like neutral. similar to as if there was no fluid in the transmission. Replace the transmission filter.
your filter is a flat square metal looking thing.it has a felt inside filter.when you go buy the new transmission filter and gasket.take out filter out of the box look at it it will give you an idea what filter look like.
ANY CODES PRESENT?ENGINE LIGHT ON?YOU MAY HAVE AN INPUT OR OUTPUT SENSOR DROPPING OUT..ALSO SOME DIRT MAY HAVE ENTERED TRANSMISSION WHEN SOLENOID PACK WAS CHANGED..MAY HAVE WENT INTO SMALL FILTER SCREENS OF SOLENOID PACK WHEN ENGINE WAS STARTED,CUTTING OFF FLUID FLOW TO SOLENOIDS..HAVE SEEN THIS RECENTLY AFTER A SOLENOID PACK REPLACEMENT
