For the 1.6l engines:

Looking at the engine from the front end (e.g. from the right fender), the drain plug is on the left below cylinder #1.

From beneath the car, looking towards the front of the vehicle, you'll find it on the right had end of the engine block, at the back (nearest the passenger compartment. (see image below)

You'll need a 17mm wrench or socket.

The Oil filter is above it and towards the center of the block.

Is there a drain plug on kia rio 2003 automatic transmission to change oil and how many leater is needed to change the oil.

Most cars, you have to drop the entire transmission pan to drain out the fluid. You have to buy a new pan gasket and filter too. Use Dexron VI transmission fluid. Total 5.9 liters. This is probably for the total system capacity. When you drop the pan, only about half of the transmission fluid drains out of the system. Only a professional shop can push out all of the transmission fluid.

2003 kia rio how to change automatic transmission oil

find the transmission oil pan. It may have a drain plug on it. Drain it measuring how much came out and put the same amount in. Then start vehicle and while on the brake shift through all gears. then check the level with the dipstick. If there is no drain plug it must be flushed by a shop. Or you can drop the oil pan and replace it with a new gasket.

Fuel filter

first, you have to drain the oil from the drain plug located at the bottom of the oil pan,

after all of the oil have been drain, tighten back the drain plug bolt.

then remove the old oil filter by using a filter wrench, you would need this wrench because it is very hard to remove by plain hands. the oil filter is located at the bottom of the engine or sometimes at its side.

after removing the old one, apply a thin coat of new oil to the rubber o-rings of the new oil filter before inserting just to make a good seal as you tighten it.

now open the oil filler cap at the top of the engine and pour the exact amount of new oil that was specified in your book. and also the correct type of oil that it uses.

then start the engine for 5 mins, turn t off and check the amount of oil at the dip stick. add if necessary..

i hope i was able to fix ur problem...

tnx 4 using fixya
