    you need to locate the "door ajar " switch, each door has one. It probably needs to be replaced or adjusted.

Take some WD40 and open the doors and spray a liberal amount into each of the door latches. Then open and close the doors firmly several times. This will work most of the time to unstick the ajar switches.

Are they on on both sides or just one? It may be the switch inside the drivers side door. The switch is part of the door latch assembly. The other things could be a broken wire in the door jam or the timer module is defective.

One of the door switches is stock or broken. check all of them. one may have popped off and fell into the door. dont forget to check the back one also

The switch that turns the interior lights on when you open the door also controls the door ajar sound and light on dash board now that switch
Is either in the door hing or it's a pin switch that sticks out of the pillar post that switch is going bad you have to locate it and replace it hope this helped

My door ajar light stays on sometimes while driving along with my interior dome light on my 1997 Ford F-150. Also, the door ajar alarm will go off for a certain amount of time after i get out of my truck.

spray the door latch with WD - 40 on both doors then open and close multiple times. Sometimes they get stuck ond this help if they free up once a month should keep it away

the wire on the door latch make sure they are plugged in or unplug it and the light should go out if it does not then it's not that door

Door ajar light in dash is on along with interior lights

the door switches for that year explorer are actually found inside the door panels, built into the door latch. they are a real pain to change out. the only way really to determine which door it is (it could also be the rear hatch) is to use a scan tool to view door ajar data, then change that one switch.
