I went to close the doors and the latch seems stuck closed so that the door just bounces off the door post. I've tried manually moving the lock but it feels stuck.
grab the door handle and move it to the open position....then use stivk a screw driver in the middle of the lock.....and push it out......it should work.......
"unless something is broken in there....then in that case you might have to remove the pannel and lots of other things...
Manually UNLOCK the door button or slide. HOLDING the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE in the OPEN position, with your other hands finger, LIFT OPEN the latch, and close your door. Hope this helps.
That is actually a common problem. Open the door, pull on the inside door handle like you were inside and opening the door. Hold the handle, and put your finger on the door latch and push on the latch mechanism, as far as it will go, release the handle and close the door. I would advise spraying the latch assembly liberally with WD-40 or another good penetrating oil. Work the latch while spraying, and it should loosen up.

I am not familiar with this model but have experienced a similar nightmare on a very model. I suspect that the child safety locks are set which is stopping you opening the doors from the inside and the outside handles are not working because the latches may have been set in the locked position.
that would happen to me and my sisters almost regularly when I was younger. Simply pull the greasy latch open with your finger while operating the door latch that would normally open the door. If its too tough for a finger, which it should not be and never was for me then you could use a screwdriver to pry it, but obviously nothing will happen if you do not pull the door latch at the same time.
possible that the latch is already in the 1/2 closed position
put a round bar ( screw driver ) under the latch and pull the latch out as you press the handle as if opening the door
Sounds like the door latch is stuck or broken. There is a gear in the side of the latch that turns when it hits the striker bolt on the door frame. You can try taking a screwdriver and pushing on the gear to see if it will move. You can look at one of the other doors to see how it is supposed to work.
Hold down the "open" button on your remote and simultaneosly pull the inside handle of that door open. I just had the issue with my driver's door and as my son tried to "help" (he's 9), one of the passenger doors also got stuck! After not finding a non-tech response, played around some until the the dran latch obliged on the front door. Repeated on passenger door and whew! :-)
Your door locks will not prevent your doors from closing, you should be able to lock the doors by hand and then close them with no problem. Take a look on the car where the door closes there will be a brass rod, this is your striker, it is what holds the door shut. This striker lines up with a latch in the door, the latch is on a spring and when the door is open it should be up, when the door closes the spring closes the latch around the striker. Check to make sure the latch is up, if it is not the door(when you try to close it) will typically bounce back toward you. If the latch is down you maybe able to take a flat head screw driver or prying device and twist the latch back up, this should allow your door to close. If you open the latch and it immediately closes it will need to be replaced. Hope this gets you on the right track.
Before you take the inner door panel apart try to spray an oil like WD40 into the door latch mechanism & Open & close many times. The return spring for the latch has stuck and it needs some waking up. Getting then inner panel off does not help that much in access.
use a large screwdriver, tire iron or a wooden spoon[?] inserted into the 'hole'between the latch levers, where the post should be.lift door latch as if to open door,pull/pry latch 'ears' open.if they don't stay in place when opened fully, latch may be broken.
Any possibilities of coats, clothing brushing against dooor and INADVERTANTLY latching them closed ? OK heres how to open the latch. Make sure door lock is in the UNLOCK position. With one hand , lift and HOLD up, OUTSIDE door handle, while taking your pointer finger and flipping open the latch on the side of the door. VOILA Hope this helps
