01 Yukon heater issues. When set to hottest setting there is very warm air coming from the vents when the fan is off. When fan is on the air is barely warm. Last year the heater was only hot when set to max heat. Any setting less than max was cold. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: 2001 tahoe front heater not working, rear heater blows warm air

Notorious for plugged heater cores. Also updated plastic restriction couplers mounted at heater core available from dealer. Try back flushing heater core. Run engine till its at operating temperature then carefully hold the inlet and outlet hose breifly with heater fan on high if hoses are nearly the same temp then flow is good , if not then core is plugged.

SOURCE: 2001 tahoe front heater not working, rear heater blows warm air

I have the same problem with my 2001 Tahoe. The front blower is working, its blowing strong, but its cold air even with the temp setting as high as it can get. The rear blows hot air. The engine temp guage is at about 210ish which is close to being normal (220). I just replaced the thermostate a few months ago, I don't know if its bad again, or it I deluted the antifreeze too much and it frooze the heater core, or if the heater core just went bad. Any one know what the cause could be?

Toyota heater no warm air for 15mins

Sounds like an air lock!
To Check....
With engine cold set heater to hot position.
ID return pipe from heater under the hood. Remove the return pipe at one end to check if coolant is there ( it should run from heater pipe) if no coolant you have an air lock.
To remove air lock top up coolant header when engine is cold. Leave heater in cold position replace pipe and start engine. Allow it to come to working temp then set heater to hottest position. Allow a few seconds and check if the pipe you first removed is hot. If no then ease the securing clip and carefully allow air to escape while engine is running... place a cloth over this area to prevent hot coolant spraying out. When coolant appears re-tighten pipe.
"PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS AS COOLANT WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT".
If you're not confident enough to do this ask a qualified mechanic to do it for you.
Again please be careful.

No heat just cold air

Is the gauge showing the engine is warming up to normal temp ?
Are the heater hoses getting hot ?
If the heater core is getting hot, it could be a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the ac evaporator among other things.

I Have a 2003 Yukon denali & I dont get no heat i change the thermostat & antifreeze but no heat

1) Check your water pump is working OK and
2) You may have an airlock in the system. Take the expansion or header tank cap off, set your heater control for hot and exterior air. Start the car and run it till warm. With luck you'll run any air locks out of the system. While warming up, and being very, very careful, try squeezing the main radiator in and out tubes (The fattest) this may also move any air locks on. BUT BE CAREFUL, STAY AWAY FROM AND FANS AND PULLEYS. IF NOT SURE, DON'T DO IT OR STOP THE ENGINE FIRST.

With luck, you should soon start to feel warm air coming from the vents.

1995 GMC Yukon has issues in the HVAC controls. When the directional control is set to feet, it is getting plenty warm, but as you move toward defrost/feet or tuen to defrost the air immediately goes cold....

the fan setting sounds like a bad blower resistor or high speed relay but i would say the resistor, the air problem may be related to the controls or vacuum leak. check the engine area around the intake and make sure the vacuum lines are good and there are no leaks as this heater system is vacuum controlled, depending because some are actuator controlled also listen under the dash for a hissing noise as that would be a vacuum leak, another thing is to remove the control and check for vac leaks at controller.

Hot air coming through defrost vent when the defrost is not on.

I have seen this on GM vehicles before. If you take the temp selector and change it to the middle or to cool it will not let warm air go through the defrost vent. The hot air coming out of the defrost vent is because the heater core has warm coolant going through it- and the user generally has warm selected on the temperature setting.

Started out with cold air coming out the vents

I'm no 'expert' but it sounds like possibly 2 different problems. Your heat comes from warm/hot coolant circulating through the heater core, and the fan blowing air through/over it. If your thermostat is not opening the coolant won't circulate. Thermostat is a not too difficult or costly starting place. No air flow leads me to think you have a blower motor issue, perhaps start with the fuse. Hope this helps.
