Stalls when placed in reverse

My 2004 Chevy Colorado 3.5L, in-line 5 cyl., auto trans, stalls when i put it into reverse. It happens when the engine is cold or normal temp., it doesn't happen all the time, just most of the time. The engine RPM's will tarvel in the range of 500 to 1200 while reverseing. If the brake is applied and the vehicle comes to a stop the RPM's will settle, If gas is applied the stalling will settle. If no brakes or gas is applied the engine will stall out eventually, and stop completely. Please help if you can

Engine only stalls when in any gear also when floored engine cuts out at 3000+ rpms

it sounds like a crank sensor if the vehicle stalls in any gear or when cold its most likely a crank sensor. located near the bottom of the engine. there almost always behind the balancer pully for the crank shaft

Seems like the fuel line looses its fuel or something. ????? That would cause a no start or hard start problem . Your best bet , have it diagnosed by a repair shop . That is unless you want 20 different answers on here . Are you willing to replace parts your vehicle doesn't need . Testing is the only way find the problem , not guessing , that's all you'll get on here . Hooking up a professional type scan tool an checking sensor data parameters to see what is a miss . Doing fuel pressure testing ,hooking up a pressure gauge .
