SOURCE: water pump replacement in a 2002 Mazda MPV

The reason is the water pump is driven off the timing belt, extra parts and allot more labor. No the eng does not have to be removed, labor time around 4 hours, parts about, about $125 US for parts, if it is a dealer add $75 US

This should be a 1 to 1-1/2 hour job. Also, have the mechanic change the thermostat and temperature sensor while he is at it, if they have not ever been changed.

How long to replace a water pump on a 2005 Envoy

Since I don't know the configuration of your engine, I can't give you a good answer. But, if the pump is inside your timing cover, and is run off the timing belt, a rough estimate would be about 4 hours labor time. Just a guess, Dale.

Engine fan is loose and rattles. Continues overheating and kicks the serpentine belt off. What can I do?

This is caused by a failure of the water pump bearing. The water pump must be replaced. If you would like instructions on replacing the water pump yourself or have any more questions, please let me know.

2004 gmc envoy. has a 6cyl and a serp belt. the center pully off set to the left (i think its a water pump) has a bad wobble and making a horrible noise. Not over heating and no leaks. should i just change...

If the fan is attached to it than it is the water pump making the noise and it will need to be replaced. If the fan clutch is not attached to it than it is either the idler pulley or the tensioner pulley. The tensioner is on the passenger side (left) of the front of the motor.

04 ENVOY,REPLACED SECONDARY AIR PUMP AND BLEW OUT SYSTEM, REPLACED FUSE AND STILL PUMP IS FILLING WITH WATER, CHECKED ALL HOSES AND FOUND NO CRACKS, WHAT ELSE SHOULD I CHECK

The water comes from exhaust system /condense/ because the check valve does work properly. The check valve is located on left top side of the engine where the hoses from the air pump connect to the exhaust.
