So obviously when the battery is detached from the system, the radio and clock won't start or work. I know that to get the radio to start again you must enter an error code for it to work again but with my car, it's a replacement stereo radio that the previous owner installed. How can I enter the error code if I don't have the original radio?

some of these cars when replacing the battery you need to replace with the ground leed first or you may blow a fuse if you connect the possitive side first it sends power through the system with no where to go.. check your fuses and make sure they are all good use your car manual to find them as all cars are somewhat different. if you dont have the manual you may have to call the dealer to get one or just ask the mechanic where the fuse box to the radio and clock are located.... i hope this helps
