SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

SOURCE: blower fan only works on high

If it is working at all then the relay and fuse is good and the problem is either the little vacuum hose on the back of the control switch panel or the panel itself.

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

Yes its the blower motor resistor.

More then likley theres some trash or something in it, or possibly the motor itself is on it's way out. There not that bad to pull out of that body car, just pull it out and see what you can see.

The blower motor is under the glove compartment

You can replace the resistor on your own. Please find a detailed diagram which would guide you to do it.

SOURCE: Blower motor now only works in 5th speed, 1 to 4 not working

You are going to have to make a connector for your resistor to fit into the adapater under the dash. the new resistor doesnt reach the terminals on the connector. Even though it clips in place it doesnt reach. I took a piece of small soldier and put in the connector then plugged it in and it worked just fine. When you unplug the relay it will not work in any speed.

SOURCE: why does the blower motor only work on spped 4 and

Usually when the blower only works on the higher speeds, the blower motor resistor has gone bad. This should be located somewhere near the blower motor itself, it is usually bolted to the blower motor housing (or in that area), just unbolt it and you can replace it. Hope this helps

2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?

The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.

HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4).

02 impala blower motor only works on position numer 1

# 1 low speed .Looking at a wiring diagram I would think that impossible . # 1 position for low speed would need to go through all the resistors in the resistor pack , which would mean all others good . # 5 high speed doesn't use resistors . uses a relay an direct B+ to the blower motor . Unless someone hooked it up backwards . GM Blower Motor Resistor Diagnostics by Wells

High speed blower does not work

The high speed circuit typically bypasses the blower motor resistor, so I'd check the wiring connections of the high-speed circuit.

My fan blower will not work on high speed on my chevy 2005 silverado

if you got heat on all speeds and the blower motor is working properly then you probably need a new HVAC switch.

Blower does not work on 5

Sounds like the high speed blower relay is bad. It's built into the resistor.

2005 Trailblazer EXT. Blower speed control not working...

Problem with blower motor is the blower motor resistor. They are usually located next to the blower motor, a couple of screws and a couple of plugs and your done. Autozone sells them for around $30 each. Wipers you may want to check for relays under the hood in the fuse block. There may be 2 relays 1 for low and 1 for high. I have switched relays from other working accesories and got wipers to work. Sometimes bad connection.

Hidh speed on heater blower. In other words

Yup. Refer to your owner's manual for location. The HIGH side of the blower is fused on it's own circuit, usually a 15 AMP fuse.
Good Luck . . .

The fan in my truck only turns on on high speed.

A bad blower motor resistor will cause it. It is located ny the blower motor p.s. below dash.

Blower fan only works on high

CHECK THE HVAC CTRL FUSE.

WITH A TEST LIGHT CHECK THE BLOWER RESISTOR FOR POWER ON THE YELLOW, TAN, PURPLE, AND LIGHT BLUE WIRES. THE ORANGE WIRES CONTROL THE HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT. DO THIS FOR EACH POSITION OF THE BLOWER SWITCH.

THE BROWN WIRE ON THE HVAC CONTROL CONNECTOR 1 POSITION B COMES FROM THE HVAC FUSE 20 AMP. NO POWER ON THAT WIRE WILL CAUSE THE BLOWER TO NOT FUNCTION ON THE LOWER SPEEDS.
