2011 outback stalls immediately after start up

While driving the Vehicle Dynamic Control light flashed on and then the Outback stalled. Since then the Outback will start but the engine runs for about 1 - 2 seconds before stopping. Applying the throttle right after start up has no effect on keeping the engine running. OBDII was checked and there were no trouble codes stored.

SOURCE: Engine stalls while driving and sometimes while idling.

The stalling problem could be caused by a faulty mass airflow sensor. That is the PO100 code. The other code is for the engine coolant temperature sensor. Go to the autozone website at autozone .com and register your vehicle. It's free and you will have access to an online repair manual. The procedures for testing the MAF sensor is outlined there. Hope this helps and you find a resolution to your problem. Best wishes.

SOURCE: check engine light on in 2001 subaru outback - car

If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.

A solid light can mean anything from a loose/faulty gas cap to a transmission issue.

This light comes on when the computer detects a fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this issue, the light will remain on. If the light turns off, then it has detected that the issue may no longer be present.

In order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have caused the light to initially turn on.

Faulty cooling fan relay, faulty coolant temperature sensor, or the fan assembly itself is defective.

2007 Subaru Outback 2.5 non turbo. Does the VVT (variable valve timing solenoid have anything to do with the fuel system?

It is two separate systems. V.V.T. (Variable Valve Timing), runs on the oil system of the vehicle so has nothingdirectly to do with fuel. The vvt solenoid is basically an electrically operated switch that alters the engines mechanical timing depending on how hard it's being work. If the solenoid is stuck either open or closed the valve timing doesn't adjust so it won't run smoothly and it can affect your fuel consumption because of that.
What exactly is your fuel issue?

2011 outback 4cyl brake, cruise light flashing, cel on. cruise inop

The clue is the Check Engine Light (CEL). Get the ECU read for the error code(s). The Cruise light turns on when the ECU detect any error.

It may be as simple as a gas cap that is not tight enough.

I have a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis rough idle, smelling gas first few minutes after I start my car. My car is also flashing engine light sporadically and losing acceleration.I recently changed spark...

flashing light most always means missfire.
could even be crossed wires.to the plugs.
you really need a code reader and find the trouble code .
but in the mean time make sure the firing order is correct.
good luck .gary

2000 subaru outback timing belt is changed, cranck and cam sensors changed but car stall crank and engine keep shutting off while driving

If this vehicle has a stand alone ignition module, that is more than likely the culprit. Change the igntion module and the problem should go away.

2001 outback automatic stall.

When you changed the ****** fluid was it brown? If so I regret to inform you, you may need a new transmission. The brown color is due to the clutches in the trans, wearing down over time. Does it shift hard when you drive it? If it does that is another sign the trans has gone out the window.

05 outback p2009 code and cruise control light flashing

Hello,

I am unable to find a P2009 code. The closest I have come across is a P2109 which is:

THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR "A" MINIMUM STOP PERFORMANCE

Which will usually be accompanied by:
  • Improper idling.
  • Poor driving performance.
  • Engine stalls.
Also the "Cruise" light will always flash when the Check Engine light is on with these later models, but it does not mean there is a concern with the Cruise control. The diagnostic checks for these cars require the SDS: Subaru Diagnostics System.(A laptop computer with Subaru specific diagnostic software). These concerns are unfortunately not easy to diagnose w/out Subaru dealership resources. I hope this info helps.
