1993 Nissan Maxima, Non-Start

Having this odd problem with my car not starting in the morning. When I put the key in the ignition and attempt to start it, nothing happens. No clicking. But all lights and battery are functional. The car starts after a few more attempts, but gradually taking longer. First time, it was 2 attempts, then 3, now it's over 5-6 attempts before the car starts.

Oddly, if i get it started, turn it off, wait 10min it will start fine with out problems. Even after 8hrs at work, I can come back and it starts fine.

I've only noticed the problem when it's been sitting parked over night, or parked during night time for a couple of hours.

i don't know if it's the starter, or something else. Help please?

Hello, I would assume this is a starter problem. You can go to Autozone and get a free diagnostic of your electrical system for free and tell you if your starter, alternator, battery is bad and/or if you have any trouble codes present in your system. I would also check your battery connections to see if they are tight and I would also check and see if your starter cables are tight as well. I hope this helps you and Good Luck!

My 2000 nissan maxima has been having problems starting lately. now this morning it wouldnt start at all. when i try to turn it on it lets off a single click and nothing. the battery is good

Sounds like a bad battery/solenoid/earth connection, if it's the solenoid, sometimes putting the car in gear & rocking it willl unblock the solenoid & it will start, that's a temporary solution, but it sounds like a bad earth to me.
Check all the heavy cables under the bonnet, if any terminals can be easily moved by hand, tighten or replace them.

Sounds like either weak battery or a weak starter not turning it over quick enough. Check thoses areas first and then go to the ignition switch and check

Nissan Maxima wont start

Two relays must close. One for security system and one for neutral safety. Check both circuits. Is there a security light flashing?

Nissan maxima keyless entry problem. vehicle will

sounds to me like you need a new ignition switch. not the ignition in which you put the key into but the switch that is mounted to the back of the ignition switch. there is a white round switch mounted to the back of the ignition cylinder. I thing it has a problem. so you don't need the while ignition cylinder, but the electrical portion of it only.

I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima that want start when I put the key in the ignition to start the car; especially when it's cold out. I've developed a hard blister on my index finger from trying to start my car,...

If you are twisting very hard or have to wiggle the key to get the starter to engage, then i would say so. Either that or you could replace the start portion of the switch with a push button on the dash, Just like the new in vogue sports cars have.
